George Spahn was a real person, and is a character in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood portrayed by Bruce Dern. He is the owner of the Spahn Ranch, a TV and Movie set used for Westerns. The ranch became home of The Manson Family.
- Burt Reynolds was originally cast in the role but he passed away before filming the part.
- Something resembling the ranch is a frequent backdrop to scenes in the TV show "Aquarius"
