- Elle Driver is named after Sarah L. Kelly, a production assistant of Pulp Fiction and director of Full Tilt Boogie, a From Dusk Till Dawn documentary. She was nicknamed 'El Driver' on the Pulp Fiction set due to her penchant for driving around.
- The character's look (specifically the eyepatch) was inspired by the main character in the grindhouse exploitation film Thriller: A Cruel Picture aka They Call Her One Eye and the character Patch from the film Switchblade Sisters.
