The real-life Bruce Lee aka Lee Jun-fan (November 27, 1940 – July 20, 1973) was a Hong Kong and American actor, film director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, philosopher and founder of the martial art Jeet Kune Do, one of the wushu or kung fu styles. His films include Marlowe, The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, Way of the Dragon, Game of Death and Enter the Dragon.

In the movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the character Bruce Lee is portrayed by Mike Moh. Bruce Lee coached Sharon Tate for her role in the 1969 movie The Wrecking Crew, a spy spoof film. Tate's ex-boyfriend Jay Sebring, a hair stylist, is often credited as having helped launch Bruce Lee's Hollywood career. They met at the International Karate Champoinships in Long Beach in 1964.
