The Weinstein Company

From The Quentin Tarantino Archives

American film studio and distribution company founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, the former CEOs of Miramax Pictures. The two movie moguls split from Miramax and took most of their independent film portfolio with them. WeinsteinCo owns the rights to the integral version of Kill Bill and distributed Grindhouse and Inglourious Basterds domestically, as well as Django Unchained. The studio has had quite successful motion pictures and good awards runs. Media coverage has sometimes centered on the diversification of the company which included Project Runway and other non-cinema businesses.
