- In the film Django wears a green jacket. This is the original jacket Little Joe (Michael Landon) wore on the Western TV series Bonanza.
- During an intense scene as Calvin Candie, Leonardo DiCaprio cut his hand on a glass and bled. This scene was used for the finished cut.
