Finally released, this exhaustive analysis of both Kill Bill Volumes and the influences gives a very interesting look at the films and we recommend this book very much, since its the first and the best book on the films.

Minireview:

  • This is a scene by scene annotation of Kill Bill (Volumes 1 and 2). In addition, D. K. Holm gives an overview of Tarantino, profiles of all major actors involved in this film, profiles of films which influenced Kill Bill as well as details of posters, trailers, screenplay drafts and film credits. Various sources were used in the compilation of this book, most interestingly perhaps information provided by members of our very own Tarantino Archives (me included!). This is simply a must-have for any fan of Kill Bill or even indeed for non-Kill Bill fans alike. It can serve as a companion whilst watching the film and serves to enlighten you about almost all aspects/references in Kill Bill. Various colour and black & white images are presented throughout the book. The only set-back are the occasional bouts of spelling mistakes and small informational errors. - Irfaan Akudi
